quote of the day
"Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value." - Albert Einstein
Nowadays
The past is something we are all involved with, be it whether or not we were alive when the past happened, it happened when our forefathers were around and therefore their traces link the past to us in the present. Human kind as a species have always been the dominate organism on this earth; they have changed the world as we know it, and they have changed each other. However, some of that "change" may not be all that positive. On the contrary, we have hurt each other and our lifeworld so much that one wonders if the end is near? Though our knowledge of mathematics and biology have improved greatly over the last decade, our primitive nature which drives us has remained somewhat "ancient" still. With self empowerment and material desires at our core we are creating a hellish world for our future generations. As our natural resources upon this planet wither away, we turn our fangs towards fellow man. This is the prognosis of our future, and possibly the beginning of the end of our kind in due course.
So I ask myself:
"What can we do? How shall we change? and to what will we become?"
Then I realized it is not a matter of change but a matter of collective pride. We are isolated and alienating ourselves from those we see as different from us. Different skin, different language, different culture, different governing policies and different agendas. We continually strive to perfect ourselves but I fear in that process we have forgotten who we are. Perfection does not come with power, it comes with responsibility. When one has power, one's responsibilities become heavy and if one does not have the shoulders for the weight of their coins then those coins would kill. If you can't carry so much then its better to give some away than to hold on for nothing. Many see wealth as a source of happiness and pride, yet I see it as the source of problems. Wealth means nothing if it is focused with the presence of one individual; it serves as a carcinogenic substance inducing the slow process of ultimate self annihilation. We can't live with out money, and yet with too much we literary kill our own dignity. To those who have just the right amount, to have balance, wealth is something metaphysical. It does not exist in the form of paper cash nor that of a grand house, but in the smiles one can experience in their life time. For money and luxury is fulfilling and grand, it is not the content of the cake itself but the icing. True happiness is the evolution of our individual persons, the realization of the true persona, a completed self identity. Who we are and how we live is our life long journey. Imagine if starvation, poverty, abuse, neglect and discrimination was killed away from the world. The collective essence of felt gratification would stem the creation of a million paradises. No more wars between fellow man, no more harmful hate between fellow man and no more oppression. I tell you why. Because all our hostile intentions are not gone, no, as the power to hate, destroy and kill is our nature. It is power itself. But that power should not be turned towards each other. It should be turned to the true enemy of mankind. That enemy is not in the afghan deserts nor anywhere in the middle east; it is not in the airports nor the bank robber's gun. It far beyond us, that is why it is the enemy. Because even though we can not reach it, it haunts us every time we wake; every moment we live. It is fear itself.
Fear existed since the first human learned of pain, since single celled organisms learned the importance of survival, though unconscious it may have been, for us humans, it is something our advanced brains can put into better interpretations and understanding. That is why we, as human, create elaborate plans and methods to deal with this fear, the fear of not being able to survive. Because we are driving by fear, and therefore we are shaped by it. Fear is as much a part of us as metal is a part of a nail. It is an enemy we can never win against and there is no point in fighting it. However, there is another way to deal with it, and that is through the way of using it. It drives us better than cocaine then why not use it to fuel our projects for the better? If we can shape our fears by altering the ways we interprete it and change our values on what is important. Then it is easy to fear the loss of a fellow man or of a stranger for that the matter. We become collectively empowered for and by each other. Find a common goal amongst all human beings and fear for its safety as a race together, we will protect each other.
